When people see my open mind I feel that they are going to think that the beast represents something that is awful. My open shows that the beast is what has turned the stranded children to savagery. The beast controls them in the book. Since some of them have different ideas of what they should do about the beast. They split into two groups and eventually go against each other. In the beginning the littuns see the beast first and tell the older children. At first the older children don’t believe them. Further into the book the beast starts to show itself to everyone except Ralph. Ralph realizes that the beast is just there imagination. Ralph tried to tell the other children this so that they would not still believe that it was real, but nobody believed him. All they could think about is where this beast is and at one point it gets to the point where they won’t go to certain parts of the island. For instance they believed that the beast was where the fire was. So nobody would go near the fire and manage so that they could be rescued. Towards the end of the book the beast took over the boys and it turned them into savages. All they could think about is that they should kill the beast and after awhile it turned into where they believed that they should kill people that weren’t in certain groups. By the end of the book two people had been killed.
In my open mind I used quotations such as “He sits there watching us.” In this quote I am stating that the beast in sitting there watching them waiting for them to make a move. In this quote from the book it shows that the group is starting to pull apart as they are arguing over what they should do about the beast. The next quote is “Perhaps he is waiting, hunting us.” In this quote I am stating that the beast is waiting for the boys to go back into the forest and try to hunt him. So that he can hunt them. Jack states that the beast is a hunter and that they should go a hunt it and kill it before it kills them.
When I shared my open mind with another classmate. They stated that my open mind was well written and that it showed how the beast made the boys feel. It also shows how the beast progressed over time. The person that looked over my open my also stated that it looks well put together that it had lots of descriptive words and phrases in it. It also had pictures to go along with it.
In my open mind I believe that it shows that if people are pushed to the limit and they crack that they can destroy. In the beginning of Lord of the Flies the boys showed the potential to preserved the nature they where inset they showed no sign of wanting to harm each other. But as we move towards the end of the book they start to show the potential to harm each other and in the end they do harm each other. They end up killing two people in their group. By the end of the book
